Emily Turned 4!

The birthday festivities started on her birthday with my mom here (Eric was out of town). We decided to get have my sister in law watch Emery (thanks Michelle!) since Ethan was in school and we went for manicures and pedicures. Emily loved it. She picked purple polish and she was so excited about the little flowers painted on her thumbs and big toes. Unfortunately since Eric was in Argentina he had the camera so I have no pictures. That night Grammy took us all out to a fun pizza place where we got to ride go carts, and bumper cars and play all sorts of games. They gave Emily a fun party bag and made her a cute cookie pizza (once again no camera :( so no pictures). The Saturday after her birthday was her party. We wanted to wait until Eric was here and it also worked out that my brother was coming to visit with his wife and 3 girls that weekend too! Emily loved having all her girl cousins here!! We didn't have all the boys, but they wouldn't have had fun anyways (just ask Ethan, he thought the party was pretty lame). At first she wanted to have a Princess party and then she decided on Barbie so we kind of did a combo of both. All the girls came dressed up and we did nails, hair and make-up. They made cute little wands and picture frames as well. Once everyone was all dressed up we took pictures in front of the castle back drop and printed them out for their picture frames. I got lucky enough that mcdonalds was doing barbie toys in their happy meals so I bought just the toy for each girl and made them each their own mini barbie cake. The girls had so much fun! The slideshow has pictures from the party at the end.

I still can't believe that she is 4 and getting so big. Here just some of the things that I love about Emily.

  • She is my girly girl! She loves to put on make-up, have her nails painted and carry around her purse. Her purse usually has her (toy) cell phone, lip gloss, wallet, hand sanitizer and her sunglasses. The sunglasses go on in the car and then are tucked into her purse when we get out. It is hilarious!!

  • She love love loves her daddy! She has him wrapped around her finger. If I tell her no she just blows it off, but if daddy says no she breaks down into tears like her heart has just been broken.

  • She loves her brothers. When she went to the Dr. for her 4 year check up she had to have 4 shots. They told her she could have 2 suckers and stickers after. She was so brave and didn't even cry. She just said ouch after each one (I was in total shock). When getting her suckers she decided to get one pink and one blue so she could give the blue one to Ethan. She is always thinking about Ethan and wondering when he will be home to play with. As far as Emery goes she is constantly malling him with hugs and kisses (which he really isn't into these days)

  • She loves to be my helper. She loves to cook with me, clean with me or do anything I am doing. If I ask her to help me with anything she is usually more than willing to do it.

Of course these are just a few of the millions of things I love about Emily. She is so cute and sweet and I hope she had a great day!!
