So maybe I am not doing as good as I hoped, but I have had sick kids this last week so that has to count for something. Emily came down with the flu Saturday night. Eric and I were out so our poor babysitter had to clean up throw up and deal with that. She was the best though and handled it great. Emily is finally feeling better and we have gone almost 36 hours without her throwing up. The only problem is that at about 9 o'clock last night Emery came in and announced in a sad little voice "I spilled mommy". We have now learned that by spilled he meant that he threw up. So now we have moved on to him being sick. Let's keep our fingers crossed it stays away from Ethan, Eric and I. I'm not counting on it though. So, on to updating a little.
This year we were so excited to have my mom and dad come for Christmas. My mom has visited a few times with out my dad so it was really nice to have him here. The last time he was here we still lived in our apartment. The day they go here we went and looked at Christmas lights. Eric found a neighborhood that has tons of good lights. After that we went out to dinner. The second day we hit the Gaylor Texan Hotel and went to ICE! The theme this year was the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. It was so awesome. It was hard to believe all of it was sculpted from ice. At the end they have these huge slides made from ice. I think that was Ethan and Emily's favorite part, they had a great time over all. I think Emery didn't like the 9 degree temperature inside there because he was pretty cranky! Personally I had to not think about how many other people had worn that big blue parka that they gave me in the beginning. If I thought about too much it seriously grossed me out. But, after some hot chocolate and lunch everyone, including Emery was feeling much better. The rest of the week we just relaxed and enjoyed. The guys went hunting for a few days. They were hoping to come home with a doe, a turkey or a hog but struck out. I think they still had fun though. It was sad to see my mom and dad go but it was so fun to have them here. Hopefully we can get them here a little more often!!
